So how in the name of local search did Gannett and Tribune decide to pull the plug last week on staffed content producers at its Metromix.com sites in seven different cities, including Denver? Denver Post reporter Joanne Ostrow reported on the job cuts, which saw three MetroMix staffers laid off in Denver. Read her story to learn why.
There may be more to the story than the Post reports. After all, Metromix had the might of 9News behind its efforts, and the station did a great job promoting the site on air with stories and promos, as well as on its own popular site.
